R.I.P. Anna Piaggi

Anna Piaggi, the flamboyant italian style-writer and fashion-icon, recently passed away, aged 81. Since the 1960s she's been using a red manual type-writer when she wrote, had almost 300 pairs of shoes and almost 3000 dresses!

Pussy Riot

This is a tribute to the feminist punk-rock collective Pussy Riot. If you haven't heard of them by now, they are a Russian girl-group who stages politically provocative impromptu performances in Moscow. On political subjects such as the status of women in Russia, and most recently against the election campaign of Prime Minister Putin for President. 

For this recent political performance three of them has been sent to jail. All of them in their 20ies, two of them mothers. 


Today, the pre-trial detention  was extended until January 2013. And if convicted they could spend an additional 7 years in prison.
