Interview with Per Spook

Before x-mas I had the pleasure of interviewing the norwegian Paris-based fashion designer Per Spook. I've interviewed him several times before and he's an extremely talented multi-artist. He recently illustrated a new set of norwegian history books. Here's some of his illustrations, which were published along with the interview in the norwegian culture magazine K!

Cocooning, Pakistan

Check out this fantastic image taken during the flooding in Pakistan in 2010; millions of spiders climbed up into the trees to escape the rising flood waters. Because of the scale of the flooding and the fact that the water took so long to recede, many trees became cocooned in spiderwebs. People in the area had never seen this phenomenon before.

The Man Repeller

I really like NYC-girl Leandra Medine's blog, The Man Repeller. According to the blogger, her style repels guys instead of attracting them. I love her playful approach. Would you rather repel or propel?

The best translator in Sarajevo

Last week my friend Mai (to the left) and I had a coffee with Bianca who was visiting Oslo from her home town Sarajevo. I met Bianca - who is probably the best translator in Sarajevo - when I was there 4 years. I  was in Sarajevo writing a reportage, Bianca was my translator and Mai who works for Save the Children was also there.

Gingerbread with a Political Statement

Before x-mas Theodor (aged 7) and I made this gingerbread house. We had lots of candy-money so we decided to make a bank. See all those people throwing themselves at the bank, falling down, trying to get a hold of the money inside, but can't enter the walls? We'll it's a symbol of the world today, Occupy Wall Street, money in the hands of the rich, excluding the rest, etc etc.

Blogging aint Easy

Happy belated new year to all of you. Ahh, I know it's been ages since I've posted anything. But sometimes there's just not enough time for all the things I'd like to do :( It ain't so easy! :)

X-mas was nice. Stayed at home with my family for days. DJ'ed one evening with my dear cousin. New Years eve was also nice. Wore a bright blue sequined dress. The first week of the year was slow; trying to figure out how I'd like to spend this year. The first weekend of the year my boyfriend and I went to my family's summer place down south and read books by the fire-place. And today we bought a flat!!!! And I got an interesting job-project-proposal. So yup; the second week of this year hasn't been slow at all :)
