Corn'y Sunday

A month ago Espen took me out to the corn-fields for a day of corn-picking! It was my first time, for him it was a normal autumn ritual. I loved gathering food from the nature. It's fun and tastes better! Now we have the freezer filled with nice yellow yummy corn.

Marina Abramovic

Tonight I'm going to the opening of the Marina-exhibition at Galleri Brandstrup in Oslo. Perhaps you remember a scene in Sex and the City where Carrie and the Russian enters a gallery late at night, watching a lady that just sits and sits? Well, that was a stand-in for Marina. I also saw her exhibition in Milan in may. So I'm quite excited to see more of her works.

Serbian Marina is New York-based, and began her career in the early 1970s. She describes herself as the "grandmother of performance art." Abramović's work explores the relationship between performer and audience, the limits of the body, and the possibilities of the mind.

Her film, The Artist is Present, is also out now.

The Glow // Maryam Nassir Zadeh

The Glow is a really really inspiring blog (to me), and I suppose to anyone who's a mother, or anyone who'll one day become one, and is quite into fashion, interior and photography.

The Glow is a glimpse into the world of inspiring and fashionable moms! :) Their styling ideas, multitasking secrets, and enviable homes. The blog is edited by by Violet Gaynor anf photographed by Kelly Stuart

I'm quite frightened of the thought of one day becoming a mother. I really really hope I will, but I hope there still will be some SPACE in my life for all those things I love doing. All those egoistic and self-centered things; having time to myself, hanging out with my wonderful boyfriend, friends, my yoga, my work, exploring things, doing creative stuff, reading the newspapers, etc etc.

The Glow makes me dream. Life isn't that polished, but still, dreaming that it's possible to keep doing what I'm doing, feels pretty good.

Here are pictures from the home of iranian-born Maryam Nassir Zade. She has a FANTASTIC boutique on the lower east side in New York, which I LOOOVE! It's impeccably curated. But now; her home. Enjoy!

Hula Hoop'ing. All day. Every day!

This is Trine ("sister in-law") working the hula hoop at the summer-cabin in Lillesand this summer. It inspired me to buy one as well!

My walk to the Office

Oslo is beautiful these days. Early autumn, sunny days, crisp mornings. I walk past the castle and Slottsparken in the morning, and it is such a nice walk!

♥ Falling in Love in front of my Lens ♥

These two did :)
This is the story.... A few months ago I photographed a few of the musicians attending the Military Tattoo in Oslo. I hoped it would turn into a nice feature, but I had too little time. But one REALLY nice thing came out of it! Cause I photographed these two, Joke and Josquin, from Belgium. They joked around and were fun to photograph (although technically these pictures are pretty crap - my bad).

Some weeks later they write me to tell me that they fell in love there and then and have now moved in together :) And I am so happy I could contribute! Here they are - in the moment of "falling"

Aftenposten Junior - over 10 000 subscribers!

We've been going for less than 5 months, and have now reached 10 000 subscribers, as well as more than 10 000 weekly readers, who buy the paper in the shops every week. The goal was 10 000 by the end of the year, so we're pretty happy!

I'm so pleased that we manage to make a newspaper for children that they actually enjoy reading, where we're teaching them important issues such as the financial crisis, the US election, the situation in Syria, Egypt, on China, pirates in Somalia, etc etc. As well as inspiring stories about kids themselves. What's going on in their world? What inspires them?

I love working with it, and my role as reportasjeleder (don't know what that is in english, perhaps "assistant editor"?). It really enjoyable working on a project that people appreciate, do something that feels important, and hang out with kids.

Here's a few pix :)

Things are Happening

... in our flat, which is being completely renovated. My friend Linn drew this on our wall when she was there a few months ago. It's no longer there. Soon, I'll show you how it looks now. Still far from done, but at least we're getting somewhere after months of waiting.
