CHECK OUT THE-CHRISTINASKREIBERG-SHOP.COM :)

I've picked my needles up again, and have started knitting these colourful mohair scarves again. I knitted a couple of hundred of them a few years ago, and now I'm getting into the jive again. Can absolutely recommend one. Have a look at my online store: www.the-christinaskreiberg-shop.com!

DIY - Make Pom Pom Party Decorations!

For 17th of May, which is Norway's Independence Day, we invited 20 friends ver for breakfast. To make our flat look it's part, I made pom pom's out of paper as window decorations. The colour scheme was red, white and blue, of course, as those are the colours of norway's flag.
Here's a brief description of how to do it :)
Step 1: Take 10 sheets of tissue paper – lay on a flat surface. I used 20″ x 30″ sheets. Starting at the short end, make a fold at least 1.5 inches wide, and continue folding until you get to the end of the tissue. Make sure to press firmly with each fold.

Step 2: Wrap tightly around the center of the folded tissues.
Step 3: Make cuts at the end of the stack to round it. Do the same on the other end.

Step 4: Pull each piece of tissue GENTLY towards the center of the flower, separate each tissue sheet from the others, one at time. Voila!

4 days in London

Tonight I'm off to London with my mother and brother, for a mini-break! It's been a while since last time, and a very long time since I've been there as a "tourist". Usually I go to visit my dad, do some work or see old friends from when I used to live there.

Back in the day my friend Sandra and I used to run the free east-end magazine ditched! HEre are a few of the colourful covers. Those were the days :)

Coco de Paris

Coco de Paris is a mixed media designer who paints these lovely creatures on antique french paper. This series was illustrated on a weekly French literary journal that published plays, novels, and short stories in the 1920s.  Cool, huh? If you are interested in this unique piece of art visit her etsy shop! I might want a few of these in our new home :)

Kara Walker

Yesterday I went to an opening at the Brooklyn Museum (wich is so worth a visit). In their permanent collection they had a painting by Kara Walker, which the friend I was with put to my attention.

Walker makes black-paper silhouettes that at first glance might remind you of the antique portraits hanging in your grandmother’s living room. But look closer. You’ll see that Walker’s art is complicated by race, sex and the history of slavery in the plantation-era South. Much of it critiques historical narratives of slavery and the ongoing perpetuation of ethnic stereotypes.

Behind the Scenes at Dior

Photographer Greg Kessler has taken these behind-the-scenes-images from the Christian Dior haute couture atelier, the day before the Dior show in Paris. I love behind-the-scenes pictures, where I get an insight into the creative process. I found these images on the very nice T Magazine blog!

Blogging aint Easy

Happy belated new year to all of you. Ahh, I know it's been ages since I've posted anything. But sometimes there's just not enough time for all the things I'd like to do :( It ain't so easy! :)

X-mas was nice. Stayed at home with my family for days. DJ'ed one evening with my dear cousin. New Years eve was also nice. Wore a bright blue sequined dress. The first week of the year was slow; trying to figure out how I'd like to spend this year. The first weekend of the year my boyfriend and I went to my family's summer place down south and read books by the fire-place. And today we bought a flat!!!! And I got an interesting job-project-proposal. So yup; the second week of this year hasn't been slow at all :)

nice NEW YORKER covers

I really like the New Yorker. And these covers, they are brilliant.

“Dark Spring” by Christoph Niemann, in reference to an article on nuclear spring in Japan.
And this one, in reference to Gaddafi.
