Sleeping on the Nightbus... ending up here...!!

On my travel from Salvador in Brazil to Lencois I took the nightbus. I had no idea what Lencois looked like or how long it would take me to get there, so I sleep happily and when I wake up I'm a few hours past Lencois! In this miniscule town, at six in the morning. I try to explain when I arrive, in very intuitive spanish, and wait for a few hours for the passing bus in the other direction. Ha ha, shit happens!

Favela Painting by Haas & Haan, in Rio

I travelled on to Rio, where the duo Haas&Hahn has doen this project in one of the favelas. This is a few years ago, but I just LOVE it! Everything about it... The COLOURS! Doing work in the FAVELA and involvement of the LOCALS. The ART. The SPIRIT. The CREATIVITY!

More pix from trip to Brazil: Strolling in Sao Paulo

I'm far from being done posting pictures from Brazil. I just got started basically. So I'll continue, although I'm back home in the crisp cold and sunny Norway. Here; walking in Vila Madalena (Sao Paulo) with my friend Stephan. I like the yellow we're both wearing.. Check out my nice yellow plastic shoes :)

Bananas and Black & White Stripes

The other night I went to Bikram Yoga with my friend Ruth-Hege. I carried this big stripy "banana-bag", but it was not at all intentional that I after yoga put on a pair of comfy tight with black and white stripes, and then on top of it, take out a banana to eat after the session! It all matched!! We had such a laugh, all high on endorphins.

A DJ dressed in all Red

On monday I DJ'ed at the launch of Oriflame cosmetic's new product line. It was my birthday that day, and I dressed in all red for the occasion. I'm 30 now; a WOMAN :) It feels like a new era is about to begin and I love it.

Flying Home

I've just returned back home. Still have plenty of pictures to show and things to tell from Brazil, but I'll post it in the next few weeks. I've had a wonderful trip, and it's always weird to leave a place and know that you'll be far away and things will continue as they are without me there. I wish I could be everywhere, and I feel so grateful for having these opportunities of traveling and also of having friends all over the world. Makes me happy!
And I'm finally done reading this book by Jonathan Franzen!! Yeah!

The Masters of Fantastic Colour Combinations!!

The whole town of Lençóis looks like this. Almost like candy houses. It's a treat to be there for those with color-loving eyes. My eyes love it!

Stephan Doitschinoff's work in Lençois

Stephan aka CALMA spent almost two years in Lençois, to get some quiet time to paint. He then started painting some of the houses in town, and also a chapel and grave stones on the church yard. It's really really nice. I took these pictures last week, so this is how it looks two/three years later. Check out more of his work Stephan Doitschinoff's work!

Cooking Fresh Pasta in Lençóis, Brazil

I've been visiting my friend Stephan's sister for almost a week, in the small town of Lençóis, by the beautiful natural area Chapada Diamantina. When I arrived I thought I would stay for a day or two, but ended up staying, as we had such a good time together. Deborah Doitschinoff is a chef and runs the really really nice restaurant Cozinha Aberta. Everything is slow food, made from scratch, inspired by her travels around the world. She has a daughter named Sophia, and here we are cooking fresh pasta in her kitchen!
