CHECK OUT THE-CHRISTINASKREIBERG-SHOP.COM :)

I've picked my needles up again, and have started knitting these colourful mohair scarves again. I knitted a couple of hundred of them a few years ago, and now I'm getting into the jive again. Can absolutely recommend one. Have a look at my online store: www.the-christinaskreiberg-shop.com!

Croissants in the Making

My friend Line makes the most beautiful pastries and cakes. One sunday morning, when Espen and I visited her, the two of them baked croissants from scratch. Here's a step by step guide :)

DIY - Make Pom Pom Party Decorations!

For 17th of May, which is Norway's Independence Day, we invited 20 friends ver for breakfast. To make our flat look it's part, I made pom pom's out of paper as window decorations. The colour scheme was red, white and blue, of course, as those are the colours of norway's flag.
Here's a brief description of how to do it :)
Step 1: Take 10 sheets of tissue paper – lay on a flat surface. I used 20″ x 30″ sheets. Starting at the short end, make a fold at least 1.5 inches wide, and continue folding until you get to the end of the tissue. Make sure to press firmly with each fold.

Step 2: Wrap tightly around the center of the folded tissues.
Step 3: Make cuts at the end of the stack to round it. Do the same on the other end.

Step 4: Pull each piece of tissue GENTLY towards the center of the flower, separate each tissue sheet from the others, one at time. Voila!

Let them Eat Lobster, NYC

In august Espen and I went to NYC for a week. My cousin A-S and my friend Andrea were both so kind to let us stay with them. To say thank you, we made a decadent lobster-dinner in return, in Andrea's apartment! A fantastic meal, which started with a venture down to china-town.

Renovation - Part II

Espen and I are spending a lot of time figuring out how our new home is going to turn out. We're not doing so much hands-on work these days, but we're planning, having lengthy meetings with the architect, figuring out which builders to use, what kind of style we want etc etc. It's really time-consuming, sometimes frustrating and slightly frightening as this project is so big (renovating the whole flat and building out a new floor on the loft). But we're sticking through, are staying friends (!) and feel fortunate :)

My Purpose in NYC this time around...

..is to hang out with this lady. This is Marjorie and she lives in Harlem. I met her for the first time 3 years ago and now I've "invaded" her life. I'll reveal more about her and my project at some other point. I'm not ready yet :)

Welcome to our new Place

We bought this flat in january and have our hands full with renovation work these days. Nothing has been done here since the 1950's. Our plan is to buy the loft and have a 2-floor apartment. I'll share pictures from the process with you here. It's at Lindern, a beautiful neigbourhood, with lots of buildings like ours!
